What does this walkthrough cover?
This roadmap connects the major phases of the adventure and the decisions between them. It does not claim a complete treasure route, every castaway location or a verified boss solution. Story progression and collection are separate tasks: reaching a new region does not mean the previous region must already be perfect. Later-region names below are mild progression spoilers.
What happens before Sun-Speckled Terrace?
The opening starts with Olimar’s playable prologue, then switches to the new recruit. Meet Oatchi, free Collin, and enter Burrow of Beginnings to rescue Shepherd. At the damaged ship, the Red Onion and nearby treasures introduce gathering. Reaching 300 accumulated Sparklium restores the radar and opens the first main exploration area.
These tutorial rescues differ from the regular castaway sequence. The first regular non-leafling rescue reveals Russ, even if you choose a different first cave. His Lab and construction access make that rescue a useful early objective. Do not assume a character is permanently tied to whichever cave another player visited first.
What unlocks each main area?
| Story Mode region | Accumulated Sparklium | Additional story gate |
|---|---|---|
| Sun-Speckled Terrace | 300 | Complete the opening and restore the radar |
| Blossoming Arcadia | 1,500 | No additional condition listed in the area reference |
| Serene Shores | 4,000 | No additional condition listed in the area reference |
| Hero’s Hideaway | 7,000 | Cure Bernard |
| Giant’s Hearth | 11,000 | Cure Olimar |
| Primordial Thicket | 13,000 | Rescue Yorke and Don Bergman |
These are cumulative thresholds, not Sparklium payments. The table is sourced from community documentation and applies to the recruit’s Story Mode, not Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale. Reaching the number does not override an unfinished story requirement.
How should you approach the opening regions?
Start in Sun-Speckled Terrace. Use its surface and caves to learn the difference between a type found underground and its matching Onion. Collect treasure for Sparklium, rescue travelers and learn which paths are safe for carrying. Our Terrace checklist covers this entire region’s 34 treasure completion entries, including its five caves.
Blossoming Arcadia and Serene Shores broaden the environments you must plan around. Before a first visit, choose a reconnaissance goal: identify a route, an obstacle or a cave worth preparing for. On the next visit, bring a squad for that known goal. This two-visit pattern is a planning option, not a required game rule or fastest route.
What changes around Hero’s Hideaway?
At 7,000 Sparklium, check whether Bernard has been cured, not just carried back as a leafling. The documented leafling cure order reaches Bernard after Dash and Corgwin. Night expeditions require Yonny and at least one rescued leafling; Yonny follows the regular castaway rescue sequence, so a fixed cave instruction is not universal.
Once inside Hero’s Hideaway, find the three emblem treasures for the safe clues. The combination varies between playthroughs: there is no universal numerical code to copy from a guide. The safe leads to Leafy Showdown. This roadmap identifies the objective but does not claim a tested battle route.
Do not assume that a major story resolution ends all exploration. The later adventure includes Giant’s Hearth and Primordial Thicket, and other progression activities can change the tools available for cleanup. Cure Olimar and reach 11,000 Sparklium for Giant’s Hearth. For Primordial Thicket, reach 13,000 and rescue both Yorke and Don Bergman; those two rescues may happen in either order.
How should you prepare for a difficult cave or boss?
Use the cave entrance information and your previous scouting notes. Identify the hazard that could stop the squad, bring appropriate types, and keep enough workers available for escape or recovery tasks. There is no verified boss-by-boss route in this launch set, so this page does not substitute invented HP, weaknesses or attack timing. Follow the cave preparation checklist instead.
When should you return for completion?
Return when a new ability resolves a specific old blocker. Write the blocker beside the location: missing type, carrying capacity, route access or unexplored cave. A named reason makes the return trip useful. The all-areas guide keeps regions distinct; the 100% checklist separates story, treasure and optional personal goals so one completed list does not conceal another unfinished system.
